Awareness-Raising Activity on the Proper Use of Plastics Conducted at a Sri Lankan Government Environmental Agency
On May 19, 2026, as part of the “Project for Capacity Enhancement on Plastic Management” implemented by JICA and Sri Lanka’s Central Environmental Authority, an educational activity was held for local students using an awareness-raising video featuring Hello Kitty about the appropriate use of plastic, jointly produced with JICA. Approximately 150 students participated in the activity. Together with Hello Kitty, they sang the “Plastic Smart Song” and learned about environmental conservation through an engaging and interactive experience. The program provided an enjoyable opportunity for the students to raise their awareness of environmental issues.
